As the brochure makes its way to the printers, we wanted to reveal a little more of the programme and offer you the chance to get tickets for all of the Theatre in the Woods events right now. So, first up from this year's lip-smacking line-up and for the first time ever purchasable online, are tickets for:
The festival is evolving, kicking off on a Saturday, a day earlier than usual, and closing the town to traffic on the Sunday for an afternoon of free street theatre. The extraordinary Gandini Juggling will be bringing Smashed, the show The Guardian listed as a highlight of 2012.
We have co-commissioned a piece of new music and are hosting the opening of a new play before it goes to Edinburgh.
OperaUpClose, whose Olivier Award-winning production of La Bohème appeared last year, returns with a vibrant production of L'Elisir d'Amore; and Ian Shaw will be back, this time with ex-Communards' singer Sarah Jane Morris. In this, Britten's centenary year, we have one of the world's leading ensembles, the Britten Sinfonia, with a programme that celebrates the composer's works.
The full programme will be announced at the beginning of June. In the meantime please do sign up for our mailing list to keep up-to-date as more details are announced.
