Festival Exhibitions
The festival presented snexcellent quality and varied exhibition in 2011. In an intimate display of passion Pre-Raphaelites & Friends included rarely seen and never hitherto exhibited original works by members of the Brotherhood and their followers, on loan from public institutions and private collections across the country.
The Auden Theatre foyer was illuminated by Richard Denyer's stunning photography. His evocative still lives and powerful figurative works are balanced by his peaceful exploration of the Norfolk wetlands.
Sir Richard Rodney Bennett's musical talents are legendary and a major theme throughout the festival. In recent years he has found a new creative love in his beautifully crafted collages which were exhibited at The Festival Club.
Once again the galleries in the town presented special Art Trail exhibitions in a variety of media and periods, ranging from the must see selection of 18th century Italian paintings at Anthony Fell Antiques through to contemporary paintings and sculpture in bronze and glass via Terry Frost and Sandra Blow.
