Holt Festival 2017 will take place from Saturday 22nd July to Sunday 30th July. Our website and brochure will contain everything you need to know about the Festival but on this page you will see some of the questions we are frequently asked via our telephone or email enquiry lines. We have grouped questions into categories and where appropriate we have added a link to the web page where you will find more detailed information. First of all, look at our brochure or our web pages and choose from the range of events. You then have a choice of ways of buying your tickets. You can telephone the Holt Festival Box Office number (01603 598699) and you will be connected to an advisor who will take your order. You can pay for tickets this way using a credit or debit card and your tickets will be posted to you providing there is sufficient time for them to arrive before the event. If there is not enough time, you can pick up your tickets on the night at the venue. You can buy tickets via our web pages and click on the act you are interested in and follow the booking instructions. Finally, you can call in person at the Theatre Royal Norwich and their Box Office there will help you.
Outside of Festival week tickets can be bought online, over the phone or in person following the guidelines above as we do not have a Box Office in Holt. In Festival week from Sunday 23rd July there will be an Event Box Office at every main programme event at the event venue. The Event Box Office opens one hour before the performance. Tickets for the performance can be bought there. At the Event Box office we can only handle cash sales and do not offer discounts on tickets.
Yes – from Easter, the Holt Tourist Information Office will be open. They have information flyers for Early Launch (from Easter) and brochures and full flyers from early May. Staff there are familiar with our programme and processes and will be very pleased to help you. Of course, many shops in Holt have our brochures and/or flyers so do try them, for example Bakers and Larners and Budgens.
We put any changes to the programme immediately on to our web pages and you should check there. If you left your contact details with our Box Office then you will be contacted by them either by telephone or email and the cost will be refunded to your credit/debit card. Short answer here is ‘no’. As with any open-air venue across the country we are at the vagaries of the weather. On a warm summer evening there is no more lovely a venue than TITW but if it rains the show goes on (the stage is well protected). Please do bring appropriate clothing and remember you are requested not to raise umbrellas in the TITW to avoid blocking the view of people behind.
Access and parking
Our website, brochure and flyers all have maps of Holt indicating where each venue is located. Your ticket will clearly indicate for which event and venue it is valid.
It depends – if your event is at Theatre in the Woods or at the Auden Theatre then follow the yellow AA signs to these venues and you will have ample parking in Gresham’s school grounds. For TITW events there will be stewards on hand to direct you. For events in St Andrew’s Church, the Holt Community Centre or the venues hosting Art Trails in Holt itself, please use any of the Pay and Display car parks in town.
Yes. At Theatre in the Woods during events we have a range of food and drink options – please check the website or brochure for details of opening times. We have a bar in the Auden Theatre Foyer open before and after each event there. In the Community Centre and St Andrew’s Church there will be a bar available during our events. Of course, Holt is a great place for a variety of food and drink from restaurants to pubs to fast food take-aways.
