St. Andrew’s Festival Fringe - Free Lunchtime Concerts and Children's Art Exhibition

Sunday 22nd July - 2.30pm Holt Festival Service
An uplifting service of Word, Song and Music to celebrate the Arts. All Welcome.
Guest Preacher: The Revd Canon Aidan Platten, Precentor of Norwich Cathedral.

Monday 23rd July - 12.30pm The Samphires – ‘Skimming Stones’
A concert of gentle harmony from a local ladies vocal ensemble to create musical ripples to delight and charm. It is a pleasure to welcome The Samphires back to Holt to launch this year’s series of lunchtime concerts.

Tuesday 24th July - 12.30pm Organ RecitalMark Jones
Locally renowned for his work as past Director of Music at Gresham’s School, Mark is now organist and choirmaster at St. Andrew’s. As an organist he has performed in many venues at home and abroad, including the Royal Albert Hall. 

Wednesday 25th July - 12.30pm “Flutissimo”
A fun-filled interactive event provided by the Fakenham Ukes. This popular group will strum their ukuleles accompanying sing-along songs from the 50s and 60s, as well as a few well-known fun songs. 

Thursday 26th July - 12.30pm Tale Dolce Musica
Tale Dolce Musica, which translates as ‘Such Sweet Music’, comprises some of the most experienced musicians in East Anglia. The wind instrumentalists, pianist and soprano have played to great acclaim at many venues throughout the region.  

Friday 28th July - 12.30pm Chanter’s Jigge – Folk and Early Music Duo
Songs, ayres, jigs and jollies from around Europe and across the centuries, played and sung with ancient, traditional and modern instruments. Lively entertainment for all ages and tastes. 

Wednesday 25th to Friday 27th July 10.00am - 12.00 noon & 2.00 - 4.00 pm
Children’s Craft Activity Tent - Free of Charge.
Accompanied by an adult, children of all ages are invited to come along and get creative! 

Friday 27th to Sunday 29th July from 10.00am to 4.00pm
ART EXHIBITION by local artists at All Saints District Church, High Kelling

The Holt Fringe 

Saturday 21st July to Sunday 29th July, An owl in every shop window – the alternative owl trail
A Children’s Art Project, created by Holt Primary School led by artist Jessica Perry, displayed in shop windows and venues throughout the town, celebrating with Holt’s emblem, 10 years of the Holt Festival.  

Saturday 21st July 7.00pm Holt Community Centre, ‘Mama Mia’ - Free entry
Sing-along & optional dressing-up at this Holt Community Cinema Event. Free but ticketed & advance booking essential. If bookings are poor the event will be cancelled. The bar will be open & food available, free entry but donations are welcome.

Monday 23rd July (with arrangements on display all week during library hours). Demonstrations 11.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 2.30pm, Holt Library. Flower arranging demonstration by Holt and District Flower Club, Free entry

“A free stroll through Holt and its History with Steve Benson, Chair of The Holt Society.” Just turn up at St Andrew’s Church Hall!

Thursday 26th July 6.00pm - 8.00pm, St Andrew's Church, Picnic Concert - The Lighters
Popular local trio play covers and originals in various styles of music from the 50’s onwards – 2 x 30 minute performances, 6.15pm & 7.15pm. Bring a picnic and sit outside. Concert in St Andrews  

Friday 27th July and Saturday 28th July all day, ‘The Poetry Postie’
Meet the Poetry Postie, on her tricycle, somewhere around the town and take delivery of your very own Postie poem. Become part of the walking stamp collection. Hop on the tricycle and create an instant sing-o-gram. (see website www.sallycrabtree.co.uk)
